Gold DofE Award (16+ Years)
To achieve your Gold Award, you need to complete the following sections:
Volunteering
12 Months
Physical
6 Months
Skills
6 Months
Further Activities
You must also undertake a further six months in the Physical or Skills section. If you have not achieved your Silver Award you must undertake a further six months in either your Volunteering or longer of your Physical or Skills sections
Expedition
Plan, train for and complete a 4 day, 3 night expedition
Residential
Undertake a shared activity in a residential setting away from home for 5 days and 4 nights
Queen Scout Award (16+ Years)
To complete the award you need to complete the Gold DofE challenges above plus:
Scout Membership
Be a member of Explorer Scouts/Scout Network for at least 18 months from your registration date
Nights Away
Complete eighteen nights away, twelve of which must be camping from your registration date
Activities
Complete six activities as an Explorer Scout/Scout Network member from the lists available in www.scouts.org.uk (this must include 2 from each section and can include the activities undertaken for the Chief Scout’s Platinum and Diamond Awards).
Presentation
On completion of the above a presentation should be made to a suitable audience, this should demonstrate your achievements so far in working towards the Queen’s Scout Award.
Before starting your award you MUST register your start of the award through this website, in order to inform the Suffolk Top Awards team and also the National site to inform the Scout Association, using the link below. Please ensure you inform your Explorer / Network leader that you have done this.
